Wayfarer is a craft bakery that focuses on naturally fermented breads and French pastries, made daily in our bakery in the seaside San Diego neighborhood of Bird Rock. Our mission statement is “Quality over Convenience” and we hold every decision we make to that standard. We make everything by hand, with a focus on quality, freshness and attention to detail. We use organic flour, eggs, dairy and produce. We are committed to working with local farms and finding ways to feature seasonal produce in our weekly menus. We are honored to have an incredibly talented team of bakers, and their passion and dedication are apparent in the beautiful products they create.

Our bread and pastries are available both in our bakery and online through our pre-order system. It is recommended that you place a pre-order online if you’d like to guarantee availability of specific products, or if you’d simply like to avoid our infamous line, which can get especially long on weekends and holidays.


Our pre-order system resets every Monday to accept orders for the current week. Pre-orders must be placed by 5am the day of pick-up. To place a pre-order, please click on the button below:
